Plaza Now Offers the Best Inventory of Horton Fan Clutches in the Midwest

Since the 1960s, Horton has been making fan clutches for cooling diesel engine trucks and off-highway vehicles. During the U.S. energy crisis in the 1970s, Horton convinced truck manufacturers that they could save fuel by running fan clutches on vehicles only when the engine required cooling. By the late 1980s, Horton fan drives became standard equipment for major truck manufacturers. Horton continues to provide the latest technology, the highest quality, and the most dependable products available.
Horton’s DM Advantage Fan Drives represent the state of the art. These fan clutches are also “must haves” for vocational, severe duty trucks because they are engineered for the highest-heat under-hood applications. First introduced in 2008, DM Advantage Fan Drives have performed flawlessly during two years of field testing on over 250 trucks, which were driven more than a total of 45 million miles. Plaza Fleet Parts is now strongly encouraging our customers to consider the DM Advantage line for its potential fuel savings.

DM Advantage Fan Clutch is Best Available TechnologyDM Advantage Fan Drives are an upgrade from previous Horton fan clutches by the addition of premium bearings, a superior air cartridge and a long-wearing friction liner.
The basic spring-engaged DM Advantage On/Off Fan Drive offers high torque for turning larger fans, a lighter weight, low parts count for simplicity and a fail-safe design. This model has become the best available solution when a two-speed fan clutch is not necessary. Compared to anything else on the market this unit keeps engine coolant at a more consistent operating temperature and has increased reliability in high-horsepower applications. The Metro Gravel Company hauling aggregate and other construction material with Peterbilt 379 trucks and Caterpillar C15 engines logged more than 4.6 million miles and has nothing but good things to say here about the On/Off Fan clutches. |
Two-speed Fan Clutches are ideal for Vocational Trucks
The DM Advantage Two-Speed Fan Drive begins with the improved reliability of the basic DM Advantage model and goes beyond to deliver important fuel savings. The two-speed model alternates between eddy current and spring-actuated cooling for precise, highly efficient temperature control and faster engine warm-ups in cold weather. While using eddy current, it turns the fan at a lower speed, which reduces operating noise, increases available horsepower for auxiliary systems and minimizes radiator abrasion from dust and debris. When additional cooling is needed, it spring-actuates and runs the fan at full input speed. It is ideal for vehicles with little or no ram air.
Plaza has stocked the economical remanufactured models of the DM Advantage Two-Speed Fan Clutch to fit many OE engines and truck models because we see the two-speed model to be the obvious choice for most of our customers who operate vocational trucks. |
